School of Information Sciences Computer Vision and Machine Learning Group

The Computer Vision and Machine Learning Group studies a wide range of problems in visual understanding, data-efficient learning, and intelligent perception. Our research addresses fundamental challenges in computer vision, machine learning, and multimodal learning, while also exploring real-world applications across domains such as healthcare and interactive systems. Based in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, our group benefits from close collaborations with the the Computer Vision Group, the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Coordinated Science Laboratory, and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.

Research Areas

Our research lies at the intersection of computer vision and machine learning — with a special focus on building intelligent visual systems that are continual and data-efficient. Our research interests include continual learning, few-shot learning, semi-supervised learning, generative models, 3D geometry models and medical image analysis. You may see details here.
