We are actively seeking highly motivated graduate students to join our research group. This year, we have one opening for:

PhD in Information Sciences, School of Information Sciences Deadline: Dec 1, 2026

The PhD position includes a five-year funding guarantee for TA/RA. International applicants need to fufill the University of Illinois TA English proficiency requirements. Specifically, applicants must meet one of the following speaking score requirements:

TOEFL iBT speaking subscore of 24 (for tests dated prior to 1/21/2026)
TOEFL iBT speaking subscore of 5.0 (for tests dated after 1/20/2026)
IELTS Academic speaking subscore of 8.0

Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS, Fall 2027)

Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS), Siebel School of Computing and Data Science Deadline: Dec 15, 2026

The MSCS is a research-oriented degree that requires 28 credit hours of coursework and 4 credit hours of thesis. The MS can be counted towards the PhD in Computer Science. The MSCS program does not offer guaranteed funding. Students who are eligible for Teaching Assistant (TA) appointments are welcome to apply for available TA positions through the department.
